There are a cople bolts loose. Take the bottom of your dash off and you will see them. That's what was wrong with mine.

The bottom as in the cover for the colum and dash? I was hoping that wasnt too difficult. I remember some GM's you had to pull the wheel off and tear into them to get to 3 torx bolts. How about the clock spring? Sound like that could be my issue?

Its not a big deal to do... take off the plastic trim and there is two bolts about half way down the column that come loose.. should be about a 10 min job.

I got it tightened up today. 2 14mm bolts, sideways in the column did it. I can still feel a lil slop in the tilt portion though. Any avice on tightening that up? I'm just trying to make this car tight again...

it is very similar to the gm in the manor of fixing the tilt section

So pull the wheel off and look for the mounting bolts from the end (outside)?

remove air bag and there is a center nut to tighten if I recall correctly (been a good while since I did one)

If its the 89 in his SIG,that wont have an airbag. And his car does not have a clockspring. It has metal tabs under spring tension that ride on round flat metal strips directly under the steering wheel. I can send you a pic of this if need be. Some times those metal strips become nasty. you can clean them up with some scotchbrite pads. Also check to make sure the fuses are good and make sure voltage isnt going to the horns,if voltage is there, then you have bad horns.

^^^ Good info and yep it's the car in my sig. No air bag, but has tilt 89 wheel. I'll start checking things out when the rain goes away, I hate no garage right now! If you dont mind, post up a few pics of those tabs. My colum isint sloppy up and down now (re:tightened mounting bolts) but the "socket" at the tilt feels gritty or catchy in a couple spots.
