I know I post up something new in here every day or two, but damnit it's working! lol. I'm trying to get my blower motor to power up, but it's not cooperating. I made sure the fuse was good, and started checking power. The plug that goes into the control (a/c-b-level-floor-defrost) has power to the 2 middle wires. But when yu move the switch from position to position, nothing happens. I cant get power to the blower motor no matter what I try. I tried jumping the power from that plug, into the other 2 pins on it figuring it would kick something on, but no dice. Anyone have any experience with these things?

Blower resistor, maybe. When they go bad, it will usually work, but only on high.

Ive seen them quit working all together to. Have you tried jumping the fan to power just to make sure it operates correctly?
Ill go grab the EVTM manual in the living room.Ill also grab the FORD book and see what it wants you to check.

Ok. Ill read this off from the EVTM manual.
Blower motor does NOT opperate.
Possible cause. --------------------------- Action
1-No voltage at blower motor.------------------1-Check fuse 9 and wiring
2-Poor continuit to ground----------------------2-clean/tighten connections
from BK wire.............................................. . check wiring for opens.
3-defective blower motor.----------------------3-Replace with known good motor.
4-Open blower resistors.------------------------4-replace as required.
5-defective blower switch ----------------------5-replace with known good switch.
If you need pics of the power schematic, let me know. It might take me some time to get them loaded but I will.

Ok ok, so I'm a vagina lol. Man thats some good info! I checked the motor, and swapped out the blower switch, and resistor and no dice. Theres no power coming from the selector switch to the blower resistor, but I'm thinking those work on a ground. I'm gonna see if I have a spare selector switch tomorow, but I'm thinking it's a wiring issue. I'm never lucky enough to get a "plug-in fix" well except for the fuel pump issue I had lol. I have a chiltons which has the diagrams, but I'm a shitty wiring guy. I'll play aroun and post up what I fin. Note: I did make sure the fuse was good, and there is power on both sides f the fuse.

Ok,when I get back from work, ill give you the rundown on what to check and where. This book I have makes it kinda easy.

I believe the selector controls the ground. Maybe try running a jumper to ground to test the motor.

I'm gonna do that when I get home from work later today, thanks for all the help guys! I wanna start driving this thing now, but kinda need heat in the early spring just to clear the windows in the early morning... Yes Moto, I'm a pussy lol...

Bring back the dead lol, still on this heater blower motor thing here. I got a good ol light tester out yesterday, and did some poking around. My power is coming on at the blower with the switch as it should, and low and behold the ground does change strength with a click of the blower switch. So as of right now I'm gonna try a test blower motor outside of the dash to see if it fixes it. So if I'm right, my next question is, how hard is it to change the blower motor?

I forgot all about this thread. Shoulda PM'ed me.
Blower motors in cars equipped with A/C are a pain in the ass.

Lol I noticed they seem to be bolted in from the backside. Please tell me this isint so!

Maybe,I could be wrong. Maybe it just unbolts and pulls out. I cant remember.
Well,it looks like the dash has to come out for the blower motor.
Go to the link and scroll down to the last post with pics.

That one shows heater core replacements. My chilton shows the housing for the blower motor unbolting and dropping down, not that i'm that lucky lol. If the dash has to come out, then its getting a new core as well. Maybe an evaporator too. Lord why do these have to be such a pita for something as common as a core or blower????

Its possible it drops out. Im just going by what that thread said. I dont have my car at work with me today because of the rain or I could walk out there and take a look for ya.

I played around with mine at lunch, not sure but it does look like it drops out from under the dash by itself. I also did the jumper test, and the blower is dead! I can get to the wheel, and it's not locked up, but it's getting all the right power and ground, just not doing anything with it... Grrrr lol...
