View Full Version : feed up with my car at the moment

well found out today when i blew another oil filter apart on my car. 2 full syn oil changes all over my drive way in one week. that my car is pushing 90pounds of oil pressure on start up and keeps climbing. after installing a after market gauge just to see what the true numbers where.

i was told that the oil pump relief vale is stuck closed so i said the hell with it and ordered a new one today. i hope this fixes the car or else we will all see a nice mustang prolly blow up on video in my project thread.:flipoff:

Hang in there man , its always something unless you buy a brand new one . Its just testing your patience.

well if i find some one to haul it to the shop for me tomorrow im goin to start on it after i get off work.

I hope that fixes the problem man and I understand your frustrations with the car. There is no such thing as a quick fix on my car it seems.

Do NOT put a high volume pump on it. Use a standard volume pump, that can cause those same symptoms.

pumped installed last nite started at 7 and finished around 12 not to bad for my first time installing a oil pump i dont think...........now it is running 60psi cold and 50psi warm. so hope that solves them problems,found out my idle problem is my tps sensor so ill grab one of them on my way home from work tomorrow and hopefully the ol stang will run decent for a while.

Was there alot of shit in the old pump? Figured from what we could see that it was probably all gunked up!

yeah there was sum junk in the bottom of the pan but nothing that looked like it was about to come apart on me. lol .... and im picking up some drag radials tomorrow so im looking for some 15'' wheels to put them on. so its track time now.

glad to hear that you got it fixed. I had a simular issue but it was a brand new pump and it locked up. broke all kinds of stuff.
