Sounds like a bad ground somewhere.
Had a car do this exact same thing. The smaller wire coming off the neg side of the battery was corroded and thin. I replaced it with thicker wire i had in the garage and it didnt have the problem again. Also I had a car that the starter was getting really hot as the car ran. ( to close to the exhaust) and if i shut the car off it wouldnt start the car again until it cooled off.

forgot to mention battery is in rear same problem with every starter, battery and solenoid. im gonna try the starter wire,or wrapping the starter
Im not sure wrapping the starter would work as well as wrapping the heat source close to the starter. Wrapping the starter seems like it would insulate the starter and keep it hot. Dont know though. Just always wrapped the thing that was causing the starter to be hot.

i will wrap the downpipe, header already done
thanks for the input guys,....
let us know how it goes. If that doesnt work I would say its a ground as long as the battery is charging properly. How long ago did you do the battery relocation and how long have you had this problem?

How's the ground from the block to the firewall? That's an important one as well.

Where do you have the battery grounded at?

I had a similiar situation with my car, i fought for many years. It was suggested to me on another web board to run a wire from the negative side of the battery to the mounting post of the starter. Made a huge difference in my car.

So from block to frame up front and battery to frame in the rear? If so thats not really a good enough ground. Run an additional line from the battery up to the block where the other ground is.
