You going with paint matched mirror covers? I considered that too... but am now leaning to more black accenting (rear tailight panel black out, black tail light bezzles, textured black front classic chin spoiler and black convertible styling bar... so leaving my mirrors black just seems to fit my theme.

I wasn't originally going to get the painted covers because I wanted the tri-bar pony floor mats, but after looking at countless pics on google, I realized that the mirror covers just add a level of class to the look the of the car that I haven't found in any other mods.

I'm thinking since you have mineral gray (right?) paint, some mirror covers could add a nice look to your car and you would still have the black accent on the lower 50% of the mirror. Not sure how they would mesh with your hood though, they may look out of place. Best bet to see if they'll look good is to print out some mineral gray shapes on a piece of paper, cut them out and tape them to your mirror.

Post up some pics! I can't see to much from your sig.

The 2008 name for the color is Vapor Silver Metallic. Keep in mind the chin spoiler etc are 'to come' appearance mods and the windows are getting tinted June 11. Here are a few shots:

The chin spoiler is sexy as hell on the s197, I'll probably go the flat black on that rather than the painted. I want to throw the shaker hook intake as well as a chin spoiler on mine once I get some money to play around with.

GOAL: Keep Overall Stock Appearence with Light Modification

To Do List (6-4-11):
- Paint (Red): Brake Calipers (Est. 8 hrs.)

Completed Projects:
- Fiberglass Fog Light Covers w/ GT Cutout (15-20 hrs.)

- Install: Sequential Tail Light Kit (45 mins.)
Installation Tip: Handle taillight housing carefully so you do not scratch your paint. There are multiple bolts that stick out the back that you could easily forget to watch when you are putting it back into the frame.

- Install: Fixed Black Antenna (14") (5 mins.)
Installation Tip: When using a wrench to tighten down, put a piece of cloth between antenna and wrench to avoid chipping the paint on the antenna.

- Install: Mirror Covers (40 mins.)
Installation Tip: Cut the 6 pieces of adhesive tape into long thin strips (12 strips total). Then cut 4 of the 12 in half. Use the longer strips on the straights (2 per side), and two shorter pieces on each corner.

Use needle nose pliers to remove backing on the double side tape after you have applied to the mirror

When applying the mirror cover with the tape on it, align the outside corner of the mirror as you put it on so if there is any error within the piece it will be hard to see because it will be between the car frame and the mirror.

- Install: Valve Stem Caps (5 mins.)

- Install: License Plate Frame (15 mins.)
Installation Tip: Use a caulk type glue hold the caps over bolts

Would have edited these in previous post but couldn't due to 15 minute limit of advanced editing. Anyways here is what I was up to tonight - sequential tailights, because I don't have a pic of those.

Nothing to fancy or technical, but they were some needed upgrade to get away from the just pulled off the lot look. However those calipers will prove to be an interesting task in a couple weekends.

The mirror covers do look really good... hmmm... I guess I better add those to the list! Ha!

I went with black plate frames on mine with smoked lexan covers for the plates. The covers aren't as dark I as I hoping for but plastic plate covered are pretty cheap.

Your valve steps are just aluminum or are they something else? Hard to see from the smaller images I see.

Not sure what the valve stems are made out of but they definitly have a plastic feel to them. If you click on the images they get bigger.

If you get the mirror covers just follow my tips and they'll turn out great! A lot of people on AM complained about installation because they did it without thinking about it first.
