okay so im borrowing my little bros quick fuel 650dp. I put the carb on my 347 scat motor. I dialed in the idle to have the most vacuum and still be set around 850 rpm. I have my vacuum advanced distributor hooked up to the timed vacuum port.

so here is my problem. When I go to rev the motor it has a flat spot. If i hit the gas pedal hard it will die out. I can lighty push the pedal and get it to rev. if i get the car above 2k I can mat it and it will run like a raped ape and neve hicups once. any ideals? im new to carbs so bare with me

Probably getting a lean spot on transition. What size squirter is in it?

the gold jets on top are 10 and 28. the accelerator pump nozzle is a 31

Try uping the squirter to a 35 and see if that makes it better. I t also make take a different pump cam. A wideband will be a big help here to see what is going on when you hit the throttle.

alright thanks. ive been reading and they say to go up 3 sizes. or just two sizes and a different pump cam.

what is the best way to tell what size or color cam I need?

The accel pump may be getting weak as well, especially if the flat spot is right on the initial throttle up (stumble).
