Hey guys. I own a 2008 Mustang GT and I am considering getting electric exhaust cutouts. Im curious, what are the ups and downs (outside of the louder exhaust) of this? What kind of horsepower/torque gain can I expect (if any), or will I actually lose power? Will my tune be thrown off when I open the cutouts if it is tuned when the cutouts are open? Any info you all could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Current performance mods that would play a factor are:
Borla dual exhaust (Stainless Steel Cat-Back System Aggressive)
Borla XR-1 Headers (Long Tube)
Borla X-Pipe
K&N Intake
Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams
3.55 rear end gear (came as a factory option)
Current power:
318 RWHP
316 RWTQ
Thanks in advance!

you wont like it and it will slow your car down. The modular cars need back pressure to run right.

I would def stick with the current exhaust setup you have. Got to love the Borla sound.

Dittos on this. Talk to Black balled about his. He can give you the .02 on them. Good effect but a loss in power. No gain and possible losses. Put the money into a 4.10/4.30 gear unless you are planning on going FI. Best improvement on a N/A modular car for the money in my opinion. Not a big issue with MPG either from my experience with a 2V mod motor and 4.10's I used to have. The new boss intake is also a good option according to another I have talked to. Just food for thought. Good luck and hope to see you around town when you get back.

Yes they are frigging cool to play with BUT.. I have noticed a lot of power loss down low and pulls like a monster up top. I have the QTP oval electric cut outs. I did not change the tune for it and runs just fine. It sounds good with cams...
