I have a 89 notch 5.0 5-speed with an lazy motor i was wondering how hard to do a 351 W swap i also have a 1971 460 & c6 torn which way to go theres a guy wanting to trade me an 89 351 w out of a van is this even an upgrade from the 302 H.O. I have or should i jus go big
351 swaps are pretty easy. All you need are different motor mounts, headers and a different ac/ps pump bracket. The trans bolts right up. If you stay EFI then you will obviously need the upper and lower intake.
The 460 is whole different beast. A lot more labor intensive.

I HAVE A 06 GT JUST HAD IT DYNO TUNED AND NOW AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN I COLD START IT, IT REVS TO ABOUT 3000 ON ITS OWN FOR ABOUT 5 SEC THEN DROPS BACK TO NORMAL, IS THIS NORMAL FOR IT TO DO AFTER HAVING IT TUNED?
teets10, please make your own thread about this. And learn how to turn off your Caps Lock.

You can buy 78 Ford truck mounts and the 460 will drop right in. You may need to do a little fabbing on the trans mount.

I found a guy with running 351 efi in a 89 van would this be an easier swap are they the good motors in the vans or is it just the explorer or lighting motors?
