I think I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Looked up all the details and there's a stop in the Rivertown IGA parking lot at 7:15a.m and depart downtown at 4:45. I still have a student ID so it's $18 for a Ride Card that is good for 10 rides. I figure $1.80 each way is a whole lot cheaper than $6 for parking, gas in the truck and racking up miles on the truck not to mention the stop is closer than where I park.

The bus company is Clermont Transit. Anyone have any experience with them? Are the on time usually?

I use to ride when I worked downtown and the only thing i didnt care for is that seems like if i drove i'd get home sometimes an hour earlier than if I rode the bus.

Dang. Good feedback thought, that's what I'm looking for. I'm hoping it's not too bad as this bus only runs from New Richmond to Downtown and I'm going to be getting off at the first stop downtown. Hopefully that helps. That early in the morning there's usually zero traffic, especially this time of year.

Yea it prolly won't be too bad just from NR to Downtown where do you work?

Yep, that's the "pit". Another reason I wanna take the bus, so I don't have to park in that lot. People are too careless and disrespectful. I make sure to get that end spot though.

Just take a good book to read and enjoy the ride. I have a buddy who does it at least 3 times a week from Verona, KY to downtown and loves it.

I tried it out today and it wasn't bad at all. It's more of a van than a bus (it is clermont afterall haha) and they were exactly on time. I was there about 10 mins early just to be sure. I'm not real happy about them not accepting a student ID other than UC's though. That changes the price of the 10 ride pass from $18 to $25.

They damn near dropped me off in front of my building too.

Also gets u a tax credit!!!!!

Really? How would I prove that? Just keep my stamped passes or?

So, you figure about $51.25 a month to ride.

How much would gas / parking be for a month?

Parking alone is $6 a day in any parking lot within reasonable walking distance. It's exactly 20 miles from my house to a parking spot in the lot I park in and the truck gets 18 at best on the highway. It's quite a big savings not to mention keeping the miles low on the truck :cool1: It's a savings of almost $70 a month in just parking alone!

I used to take a bus when I was a security guard at the P&C Bank Building downtown and I would drive to the closest stop to my parent's place, leave the car, and take a bus downtown to get to work and bus back to my car, pick it up, and head home. It really saved a lot of money and I dont recall if the busses were ever early or late.

My wife takes the Clermont bus downtown several days a week. She loves the convenience and the buses are usually very timely.

Up here in Dayton, the RTA bus service is not allowed to be "early", however they are allowed to run a few minutes late.

I road the bus in the summer when I lived in Alexandria and worked downtown. The only time it sucked is when the Red's had a day...especially opening day.

At what location does she get on in the morning? I'm using CTC as well.
