Rumor has it that the bill SB 17 is scheduled for an amendment mentioning Beer is alcohol ? :confused: today in the Ohio House.

Then the Senate could vote on it today ??? If it passes could go to the Governor today.

Hard to believe but could happen !! Then let the phone calls begin!!

The house passed SB 17 with 55 votes ...now it's up to the senate..

So your saying that CCW will NOT be allowed in a Restaurant that serves Beer?

No.. I am saying that they added beer to the law . Your not allowed to drink liquor or beer .... weird but there definition of liquor exempts beer??? :lol: So they added beer to the bill with liquor. There was some talk on forums that you could drink beer because it wasn't alcohol by definition... very confusing

One would think it would have been simpler to not allow the consumption of any alcohol containing beverages, but then again this is the government we're talking about.

I guess they didn't amend the law since this says it goes to the Governors desk next!!

Minutes ago, for a second time with a second bill, the Ohio House of Representatives passed SB17 (Restaurant Carry) by a tentative vote of 55 YEA to 38 NAY votes (subject to change slightly).
Since 2004 Ohioans For Concealed Carry has considered Restaurant Carry one of is primary legislative goals and today we have finally witnessed the passing of a clean bill that will be sent to the Governor's desk promptly.
Your job now is to call Governor Kasich and politely ask him to sign SB17 into law or to simply allow it to become law without his signature ten days after he receives it. Either option is acceptable to all of us.

The law goes to the Governor... I was wrong.

It's a hoot listening to these yahoos....
Many different amendments, were tried like counties to vote to have the law or not etc. can you imagine that you would have to take a state map with the county lines drawn out>>>

"It is vital that you walk away with this understanding: If the bill is filed with the Secretary of States office today (June 30th), I expect it to "go into effect" on Thursday, September 29th. If the bill isn't considered filed until Friday (July 1st), I do not expect the bill to "go into effect" until Friday, September 30th -- what this basically means is DO NOT start carrying a firearm in your vehicle or a restaurant as if these new regulations exist, because "legal day one" is not until this fall.

As of 4:55pm the Secretary of State's office advised Ohioans For Concealed Carry they have not received the law. Once that date is absolutely finalized by the Ohio Secretary of State's office we will publish it on our websites"
