I am getting ready to do some restoration on my 1985 Mustang GT. I need a clean hatch. What year Mustang hatches were common with the '85? Thanks in advance.

Pretty much all 79-93 LX hatch. Only thing you need to pay attention to is the fact that 85 was the only year that didn't have the 3rd brake light in the spoiler. If you get a newer hatch it will have a larger hole under the spoiler for the wiring. The aluminum trim is all the same, just different colors. You should be able to use the wiring harness of any hatch with your car.

theres a 79 cobra hatchback at u pull n pay. i was getting some parts for my boss and stumbled up on it... well maybe i intentionally strolled over to the ford section.lol but i didnt pay much attention to the hatch. but for how cheap it is id go check it out if i were you.

theres a 79 cobra hatchback at u pull n pay. i was getting some parts for my boss and stumbled up on it... well maybe i intentionally strolled over to the ford section.lol but i didnt pay much attention to the hatch. but for how cheap it is id go check it out if i were you.The hatch is perfect, one small bulge underneath in the seam, could be cleaned out easy, no bulges in the problem areas like most, somebody buy it, I got the shifter boot.
