So I just recently (within the past two weeks) put a new torque converter in, the problem before was that it had trouble from shifting from first to second (had to get up to 4-5gs and let off for it to shift) and in reverse it would shudder when you backed up. I drove it around like that for a while then I found that the converter was scoured and was leaking fluid like no other. So I replaced the torque converter and everything worked fine. About 3 days ago it stopped and still seemed to be working fine, until I drove it home on the highway tonight and stopped to look at a Jeep. While backing up the car began to shudder and when I put it into drive and took off the same shifting problem started. Did I just mess up the new torque converter? I'd get under and check that little cover between the engine and transmision right now but I don't feel like getting burnt, I'll have updates either later on tonight when it cools off or tomorrow morning.

Update: Took that little cover off and found a tiny trace of metal shavings that look to be new, but I'm hoping they aren't. Tranny fluid is a bit high, about half an inch over the recommended line, I'll be siphoning off the excess here tomorrow. I could not get to the nuts before I had to leave for work this morning so i wasn't able to check them. I talked to some of the guys at work about it and they said it seemed plausible that the nuts came loose in the high vibrations when I went down the highway so I bought some of the blue colored thread lock, and triple checking the nuts after I tighten them.
(I apologize about the double post but I cannot find the edit button)

Welp, fixed it. It was the nuts on the torque converter.. They've been loctite'd and torqued down. I feel quiet dumb for over-reacting and not thinking this through rationally, sorry about the thread guys.
