93 coupe

got a 93 coupe for a winter project. does anyone know of any easy was to give a auto 4cyl more power til i get parts gathered for a 5.0 swap

110 shot of nos should doubles its horsepower and make it die a quicker death u could turbo it what do u need for the swap i might have a donar car for the prject a buddy of mine has a car that frame just gave our on i dontknow what it can be bought for yet tho

i think i will start with changing it over to a 5 speed that should help it out alot and maybe get 8.8 and a set of 4.10 gears for it. its things that will need done for the swap anyway later on.

I have a 93 coupe I am doing the same thing with. When you get the 8.8, try to get the brake lines with it. The 4 cyl rear brake lines are run on the passenger side (v8 are on the drivers side), Anyway 4cyl brake like is attached at the same location as the passenger v8 muffler is mounted. Sort of a pain, but not too bad.

yeah last one i have was a 87 coupe 4cyl and i changed everything over to 5.0 5 speed with 8.8 and 5 lug conversion with gt body kit had to change so much but was worth all the work

got me a 5 speed and hurst shifter now still need crossmember and clutch cable to do the swap should run alot better with 5 speed it has a 3:73 gear already

Yeah, my 4 cyl 5 speed runs pretty good. I had an auto one and it wouldn't get out of it's own way. lol. Good thing is that the crossmember for a 4 cyl 5 speed is the same as a V8, same with pedals and such. Did you get a bellhousing yet?

yes i got a bellhousing with trans hoping to get cable crossmember and clutch kit this week and do the 5 speed swap next weekend not sure if driveshaft is same or not

Gonna have to do alot to get some more power out of the 2.3. Ran my 90 mustang 2.3 with 3:45 gear and t-5 back in Aprl at Seans get together at Edgewater. Car went 19.56 first pass shifting at 4800 and leavng at 2000, didnt think i was ever going to get to the other end, serious diet would help.

yeah going to put the 5 speed in cut the converters of the exhaust it has a 3:73 gear already may bore the throttle body out ( i work at a machine shop and have did few on other cars and it helped)and may also try injectors and bigger mass air any body have any luck building 2.3 turbo motors to run decent? trying to post pics of car but having problems loading

will have to get some updated pics when get it cleaned up pu 5.0 emblems and chrome tailpipes on it and get my ram air hood painted and put on them pics are when i got it had to get rid of that hitch to like a 4 cyl auto would pull anything lol

yeah they are hard to get took me a long time to find one that was in good shape and untouched thinking about a 4 cyl turbo build in the future

made it alittle closer to the 5 speed swap go the pedal assembly in today hoping to change trans next week also had to fix a gas line drove it to work today then noticed i had a bad gas leak spraying from metal line where bolts to the body was rusted and was spraying right on the motor glad it didnt catch fire

Glad somebody is making progress on a project. When you do the 5-speed swap, you need to take the speedo cable out of the current hole in the firewall and put it in the one next to it. The clutch cable is supposed to go where the speedo cable currently is.

I have decided to get rid of ram air hood for a cowl induction if anyone is interestred in trading for one let me know

traded my ram air hood today for a 4 inch cowl will try to post new pics tommarow cowl hoods look so much better on stangs
