Wanting to put a T-56 behind my 4.6 3v. Do not want to give up my right arm tho and used ones hard to find.. Like the idea of the deep overdrive,,car has a 4.10 gear, anyone use any other trans, might take it to the strip now and then but mostly a daily driver, but dont want it to fall apart. Some 5 spds have the deeper gears tho too,,, so confused !

Is this in a S197 Mustang? If so talk to 05YellowGT. He had an obscene amount of money in to a T56 setup for his 2005 that never quite worked right.

In that case the swap is much easier and works a lot better.

was it a stock or built T56? Only reason I ask is becuase everyone I know that runs a T56 in a fox loves it to death because it shifts like butter as compared to a TKO

Personally, I absolutely hated the T-56 in my '04 Cobra. its had a Pro 5.0 shifter I think and adjusted the clutch pedal and it still wasnt worth a dogshit. There is a quick fix for the detent spring....put a washer or two in and it takes some pressure off making it easier to shift. Mine was way too notchy and nearly impossible to power shift. I'd prefer a stock t-45 to that pile. Again, just my opinion and from what I read on the web...a LOT of other peoples opinion as well. Hell, my mother broke 3 T-56's in 2 years! She is 5 foot nothing lol.

No sir, it was not. Tried the stock shifter as well. Im not saying its not a tough granny, just didn't like its shift feeling.

Im sure everyone has had different experiences but mine has a Triaxx shifter and a fiore adjuster or how ever you spell it adjuster and a 6 puck and mine has no issues what so ever and it was from an 03 Cobra and then upgraded here locally

There won't be anything special or different needed to put a T56 behind a 3v in an SN95. Just like any other T56 swap.
