I need someone who's good with messing with carbs to come get mine ironed out.. I got her to wear she idles good but after about 20min of driving she starts to load up real bad and fouls out plugs... I have to wait for the fuel to evaporate off of the plugs before i can drive it again to were it will behave...

Sounds like the floats are set way too high and/or too much fuel pressure.

Here is a good page to read up on.

http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm

Set your fuel psi to 6-6.5. Make sure when the car gets up to temp that the fuel pressure is still the same. I once had a regulator that did some funky things at operating temp.

Check your float level. How much of your front and rear transition slots are exposed?

I'm with the others, on fuel pressure.

Are you running a deadhead system, or by-pass? Electric, or mechanical pump?

What kind of carb is it?

I ran into this issue on my truck. My mechanical has some issues and it pumps out 9 PSI. SO I stuck a reg on it,but I had to smack it with a small hammer to get it to work correctly. Musta have jammed up from sitting for so long.

Stolly,

I'll be back in town late tomorrow. I'm right down the road in Hunter, if you need me to swing by one night next week, just let me know.
