I think i have this fairly sorted out but i'll ask for opinions anyways. My vacuum gauge is broke so i can't do it right, so what's a safe ballpark number of turns out on the curb idle screws to start with so i'm not too lean? The carb came around 2-2 1/2 turns out and was extremely rich at idle. I've backed them all 4 down to 1 1/4 out. With the old setup it was smoking a grayish whtie smoke at idle (which i'm confused about, doesn't a rich condition usually smoke black?) but now there's no smoke. It runs great, i just wanna make sure it's not too lean.

I have one too, and i've even looked this up, but they all explain how to set it by a vacuum gauge, which i know how to do, i just don't have a vacuum gauge...got one of those i can borrow?
I'm not real worried about it at the moment, it runs awesome and it's not smoking so i'm happy, i was just curious what others thought. Most people cringe when i say 4 corner idle but it wasn't hard at all to adjust.

1 1/4 1 1/2 turns out always seemed to work for me just fine! Hard to use gauge on cars with alot of cam anyways. Just my 2 cents

That's another thing i was thinking, with the way it lopes it's hard enough just to get it to idle smooth let alone read a gauge right.

go up to advanced and borrow a gauge. If I remember right on the settings I believe I used 1 1/4 as well when running a bigger cam
