Does any body know how many volts run to a stock ignition box on a 351w

I had twelve volts going to it but I guess that's to much cause the wire started to fry

Everything on that runs off of 12v. Sounds like you have a different problem. 12v short.

Voltage doesn't melt wires, amperage does, that or a short. Something is wrong and it isn't the voltage source.
