I just installed a MGW shifter in my car and all I can say is WOW!!!
I had George make some changes to mine when he built it. I had him use the T56 springs cause they have double the return tension vs the TKO's and 3550 springs. And I had him use a new GT handle vs the normal orange or silver race handle. The handle for the new GT's is straight up and down which is what I am use to from running a Pro 5.0. The feel as far as going thru the gears is night and day comparison to the Pro 5.0. Just my own personal opinion here.... the Pro 5.0's are junk!!!

I couldnt agree more. I have had them all over the years. B&M, hurst, Tri ax, Pro 50. I had MGW in my last two cars and will never have anything else again!

I love my MGW shifter. I have an '06 GT and I was in the first Beta group when they first introduced the new shifter. They made a couple of changes early on, different centering springs and different bushing material. George sent out these new parts as soon as they figured out they needed to be changed and now it is just about perfect. :bigthumb

This thread is not making me very happy after putting a PRO 5.0 on my 3550 after the builder said it was the only shifter he suggests running.

Wow, Pro 5.0s are junk!? I absolutely love mine...i've gotta try out this MGW, i hear a lot of good things about them. My only complaint is you have to punch the Pro 5.0 into gears, but i sort of enjoy that ;)

Well David I absolutely loved mine as well and maybe they are not junk in general. But after you try the MGW you will understand what I mean. The smoothness and the effort to go into gear as well as the overall feel is night and day. You dont even have to think about it going into gear. I ran a pro 50 for a couple years and loved it. I recently started doing some research and after talking to others that have MGW's, I decided to make the switch. And I am glad I did. Not sure what George does to his shifters vs the other guys. But they are on a different level vs the pro 50 and steeda. Those are the only 2 other shifters I have ran. So I am only speaking from my past experiences.

So what kind of price? I'm definitely intrigued. I like the idea of an adjustable shifter handle. Mine is a custom "Kenny Hickman special"

Mine was 219.00. I have a 3550 trans. George upgraded my springs to the T56 springs and incluuded the normal springs they use in the 3550's and TKO's. I wasn't real keen on the orange shifter handle so I had him swap that out for the handle thats for the new GT's. It's straight up and down vs the bend that the orange one has. When you first look at these things and how the handle mounts to them. You would think there's no way that these things can stay clamped tight and not move. But they wont go nowhere. They are tested at his place with a machine that exerts 2000lbs of force and they dont budge.

The clamping style is similar to what i've dealt with on bicycles, and i've bent handlebars before i've stripped the clamp so i don't see the arm moving during a shift.

Yeah it definitely doesn't move.

Had a MGW in my 3650 and it was awesome. George makes a quality product and stands behind it. I recommend MGW to anyone.

I've been using George's stuff for over 10 years.
Hands down the best stuff out there.
