I am just curious as to some of the photographers on here opinions. I f you take a picture and publish it on here or any other website as your picture, who can use it? Here is my issue, I take a picture, post it on facebook, and now its all over other websites. I deleted mine for the sake of it was while I was working but what does it take to get it removed or copyrighted? And its not porn either just to put that out there!!!

I think by posting it on Facebook you give up most rights. Read their TOS.
Counterpoint, you have paid for all the music you downloaded right?

I seen the guys week before last setting up the scenes for the movie. I worked most of that week out there in F building getting the unit sorters up and running again. Ozzy called a guy I know to fix them an he drug me along to help them out.

All the picture was, was a Harrier prop that they was loading on the trailer. I stayed out of the restricted zone like I was told when I went over there by security!!! They didnt say shit about taking pics! But where I work does!

We were right there wih the guys and nobody said a word to us. Your shop might not allow pics. because you could possibly sell info to competitiors. Google photo copyrights. I would say since you put it up and other people copied it, it could be more places on the net than you could imagine.

If the guys did not say nothing about taking a pic. you might be ok, it would be hard for them to track down where the photo came from if that is what you are worried about.

yeah thats pretty much it. I just hate to lose my job over a stupid picture! And with the day and age of cell phone camera's, its gonna be hard to keep them out.

With the world of social media its hard to hold claims on photos... watermarks is the common practice but like stated above they can be removed... I dont see it being to much of a deal..if nothing was said about you taking the picture you should be cool

Once the photos are in google cache they might not be so easily removed, those photos can be on thousands of pc's by now. My guess is he will be fine, it would be to hard to track it down of who posted it.

I've found pictures of my car on a woman's facebook page once. She only had it on there because she liked it though so i didn't say anything. Do a search for your screen name sometime, you'll find lots of stuff. I've also been quoted in magazines before from things i've said on forums.

There is a way to code a pic so that noone can copy your pic from a website, but no way to stop someone from hitting printscreen and scanning it back in on their computer.

If you are in a place you are legally allowed to be you can take all the photos of anything you like.
The picture is the copyright of whoever took it, no need to file for a copyright. Now if someone else uses it and makes a profit, you then have court proceedings, proving you took the photo, and by them making money off of i caused you loss.
Or you can send them a certified letter telling them to cease and desist using the photo unless they pay a fee.
