2000 ford escape

was wonder if anyone has replaced a engine in a 2000 ford escape v6 4x4 trying to find out how hard it will be and if motor comes out top or bottom to be replaced any info would be appreciated thanks

never pulled the motor but the trans is a biotch!

i got a chance to do a side job on one and make 600 to change the engine just wondering if its worth it or sould i pass on it

im pretty sure it will be easier to drop it out of the bottom, like pull the whole front suspension out, i put a motor out of one in a contour, if you took the hood off it probably wouldnt be bad to pull it out of the top.

If you have a lift available drop the subframe on jackstands and raise the body off the powertrain, otherwise prepare to bust some knuckles. It will come out the top but it can be a fight to realign the bellhousing.
