Why would the spring in the picture be curved.

suspension under full droop.

the spring seats are not parallel to each other until suspension is loaded with car on the ground.

And your right about that but they are crooked when then car sits on the ground

Possible broken springs. They tend to break the bottom coil in the spring pocket of the lower control arm.

Stock springs? Drag springs? The set of drag springs Ihad once were way taller then stock and had to be shortened. Maybe someone put a set in a did not cut them. How is the ride height?
