After driving my Mustang quite a bit this summer, I decided it was time to render it inoperable so it could undergo a transformation at Gould and Sons. I have decided its time to own something nice instead of a driver quality car "that could be" nice.
My goal is to have a head turning car that sounds amazing and runs great. The beginning stage of the project happened this past Friday when I drove my car to Gould and Sons and begun unbolting things to pull the engine. I have some wrenching experience but Bruce pointed me in the right direction while he was working on a Cobra at the same time. A few hours later, the car I drove to his shop had no engine, transmission, exhaust, or driveshaft in it. I have to say I had fun...thanks Bruce! Also want to thank Tim (BLUE91LX) for giving me a hand as well.
Went back Saturday and pulled out the interior and yanked off the Pony wheels and put on some rollers. As far as the body goes, its gonna need both doors replaced, drivers side fender also. Probably gonna go with an HO Fibertrends 2 1/2" hood and possibly a 93 Cobra wing..havent decided on wing yet..may stay with stock one.
Color....still undecided! Went through a phase where I wanted Grabber Blue..figured it would only look right if it had the right amount of black trim and if the wheels were black. Also thought about a bright red but at this point I am still undecided. I am not going for the stock look and wont be going back with a hood stripe. I am pretty sure I want the body mouldings the same color as the car. Window trim, door trim and mirrors would be black trim paint.
More to follow.... Always looking for suggestions, criticism, etc.
Thanks again to Gould and Sons for taking on my project!

I have two different wheels in mind for my Mustang. I am pretty sure I am gonna switch it over to 5 lug and want to go with either the Cobra Anniversaries or Saleen wheels that I have pictured here. Definately going 17" to achieve the look I want. The wheel finish would depend on the paint color I decide on. I think these particular wheels look great on four eyed cars. Let me know what you think...

Of the two, i would go with the Cobras.
Any ideas on what color you're going with?

Not sure on color yet... up for suggestions at this point. Want something that is going to have a WOW factor! Also, when it comes to the body, the engine bay is gonna get the smoothed makeover and I want it to be as clean as possible..If I dont need it in the bay I dont want it there.

Being a carbed car, you can make it look like an engine is sitting there with nothing hooked up to it but power steering lines and radiator hoses. Everything else can be hidden with some creativity.

Good luck with it and glad to see another 4eye getting saved... My thoughts would be the grabber blue with black sail panels and headlight buckets with the 85/86 black hood gt sticker...sometimes i think a stang that is super clean and well built has an even bigger wow factor then a crazy paint job.... Keep in mind you already have one thing that grabs attention because it isnt like every other aero nose fox on the street...... good luck on the build

Thanks for all the responses. I do plan on having the car one color and no graphics or anything. When I say wow factor, I am not referring to a custom designed paint job, but a clean..sleek looking machine. I am super confident that it will look awesome after Bruce Gould puts his talent into it.
While I am at it:
Engine: its gonna get the DSS 306 shortblock that I purchased a few months ago. Gonna go with the GT40P heads I bought from 85silvershark (gotta get them gone throuh and springs upgraded). Plans are also to go with the AFM N41cam (sounds nasty..youtube 306 with afm n41 cam and listen to it), weiand stealth intake, and Holley 600 DP carb. Again, not trying to have the fastest car...plenty of power and nasty sound. Gonna get the GT40P specific headers, Hpipe and 40 series flowmasters. Sticking with original looking stainless tailpipes.

Anyone on here have the ability to photoshop the car I pictured with the Saleen Wheels? I would like to see it in Grabber Blue. Body mouldings also grabber blue, all othr black trim on car to remain black. Not sure on headlight bucket area..probably grabber blue as well. I need to be convinced to quit thinking about grabber blue or positive reinforcement that it could look awesome. Also concerned that it could be a color that I would get sick of after a short time...its kinda like a love/hate color to me.
Photoshop help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like a good start and you have one of the best painters ever working his majic on it. Im sure bruce could help suggest some colors , we all used to call him crazy when he would tell us his color choices for his cars , but he always made them work well together. Good luck with your build.

Just wanted to get some opinions on grabber blue color on a fox body. Not finding much on internet but did find this picture of a four eyed car that is supposedly grabber blue. It has the body mouldings and headlight area painted blue and the window sails and door mouldings trim black just as I plan on doing regardless of the paint color I choose.
Looking for opinions on grabber blue still. Im thinking I must truly like this color if I think about it as much as I do.

Dont forget this photoshop I did a while back. I will get the other one of the white car done soon though.
This color was pulled directly off a new Stang in Grabber Blue.

I thought about doing that color as well. But to save a few bucks I decided to just stick with the white.

I came real close to doing grabber blue. I think it's a great color for a fox especially if you accent it with some satin black like the '60s cars had.
This is the paint scheme i came up with back then. I still might do my hood in all black like this someday if i ever get sick of the green.
