Finally getting my 83 vert done,,,, Thanks to Dirtydog for setting my AOD kickdown and also helping with my Stall and Trans cooler !! Now I need to learn the difference between a trans brake, and line locks. It will be a street strip car,,, teach me oh wise ones !!

That trans and/or converter will not handle a brake, do the line lock until you upgrade the trans and converter. You'll need a 1 piece input shaft setup for a brake.
On a side note that is a sweet 83, once it is painted it will be a beautiful machine top and bottom. Did you get a chance to have a good look at that cooler setup? It will handle anything you want to do. Line locks hold the tires, trans brake binds the trans in fwd in reverse locking the car from motion until you release it slingshotting the car into forward.

Line locks are primarily used during your burn out locking the front wheels and allowing the rear wheels to spin freely allowing you to get them super hot. Transbrakes are used to launch off the line using a 2-step.
