Looks like B.E.S. is kicking ass at the Engine Masters Challenge again this year. They are in the #1 spot going in to the final day today. Looks like they showed up with a 441" Victor Glidden Headed SBF.

They always have some wild builds

Multi-year Engine Masters Champion Tony Bischoff unpacked a wicked 441-cubic inch Ford small block running the Edelbrock Glidden Victor SC-1 cylinder heads. Always a top competitor, Tony and his crew were clearly well prepared, with the engine showing radical power production right from the warm-up pull. Tony made some minor tuning changes to the ignition timing, and simply let the engine relax between the three scored qualifying pulls. The Ford's performance didn't disappoint, churning as much as 914 peak horsepower on its way to the top qualifying score of 3128.3 in the Xtreme division.

That's crazy for an all motor small block. That's more than 2hp per cubic inch.

I saw some of the EMC guys at Cracker Barrel last night. They hold the event at UNOH which is right down the road from me.

2+hp per CID is very impressive for an NA motor. The cool thing they have now is they can put the porting measurements into their CNC head machine and duplicate the same engine and performance for everyone. You should see the inside of some of these engines they are art.

I'm a little confused ...
It sounds like they heard that you hurt your motor and were calling you to see if they could rebuild it for you, and you're debating it ???

Or did they return a call that you had made to them ... And they just Won the EMC and you're still debating it ???

I just wanted to be clear on what you were saying, and in either case was wondering why there would be a reason to have anyone else do it ...

Thanks

For me it would depend on the application, what I needed done and when they could get to it. If it was just a simple crank grind, I might just go somewhere else depending on time and money. I've had a lot of stuff done by them and have worked on friends motors done by them and they are top notch. The head work they did for a friends LS1 motor was fabulous. Custom, one of a kind build with hellacous flow numbers above 0.500" lift and was still climbing at 0.650" lift. :bigthumb

Doubt it, moved up here a few years ago to work at the tank plant. You might know my neighbor Jamey, silver fox GT with a 347 and spray.
