View Full Version : Do you need the pins in the flywheel

I bought a new flywheel but no alignment pins. Are they critical.

i would always use them. id say they will save you from a vibration and will help prevent breaking the clutch bolts

Yes, they are extremely important! They are what centers the clutch. I would not run w/o them.

I have removed them by drilling and tapping the hole then drill the pressure plate to fit exactly the should of the bolt you are using. I think I used a 3/8 bolt when I did it but it may have been 5/16. It was a crappy job to do if you can find locator pins it will be much easier. Without them the alignment can be way off and make a terrible vibration.
