Not really sure where to put this, but I have a 90 coupe with an SN95 5 lug/disc brake conversion. I also have a set of Race Stars that are 15X8 with a 5.5 BS.

I'm really looking for input on tire clearance and proper fitment of these wheels. Doing the math, a 5.5 BS should put the outer edge of the wheel at approximately the same position as stock. I suppose I'm looking for conformation of that, as well as maximum tire size. I was hoping to use a 275-60-15 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial.

Questions:

1: Is 5.5 BS the correct backspacing for an 8" wheel and a SN95 axle/brake conversion on a fox?

2: Will a 275-60-15 Mickey Thompson fit in the above scenario, providied the wheel sizing is correct.

3: If everything works, but it needs clearancing, does anyone want to have a "beat the hell out of the inner fender with a BFH party?"

4: If this is a "none of the above scenario", please make suggestions!

The 275/60/15 should work, but you may need to roll the fender lip. I doubt you will have any clearance issues on the inside, but you should check after a short drive to see if you do. The 5.5 backspacing is not optimum, but that is what most wheel companies offer in that width. I would say a 6" backspacing would be perfect, but you would be spending some money on those wheels.

So, is there anyway to use Fox Length 5 lug axles to bring the wheels in closer while keeping the SN95 disc conversion?
