Selling my Taurus SHO...details below:

1997 Taurus SHO
170,XXX Miles
Loaded, Moonroof, Leather, 6 disc Mach sound system
Runs strong

The Good-
New Front Wheel Bearings and Lower Ball Joints
Limited Edition In Memory of Vinny 5oh Sticker

The Bad -
Needs rear struts. I have them, just need put on, which will require drilling out the lower mount bolts due one being broke off.
Needs Tires and Alignment
Battery is dead from sitting, but I can charge it and start it
Lower rocker panel in front of right rear is gone. (rusted through)
A/C works off and on. Charge is good, suspect A/C clutch needs shim removed. (Common on SHO's)
Passenger side window motor intermittent
Hard starting after sitting (fuel pressure bleeds off)

I am not sure if this ever had the cams welded, but I never had a problem with it. I bought it with 93,xxx miles on it and never had a problem with the cams or anything engine related really.

This car could be nice with a little TLC, I just got tired of it. Could be used for a drivetrain swap into a SHO that needs an engine.

Update...one other thing I remembered today. The keyless entry and remotes no longer work. I believe it is the GEM, but I never messed with it. I just used the keys old school.

Not driveable that distance. It needs tires and the right rear strut is halfway changed....

Common problem on the Taurus, the lower strut bolt is threaded into the other side of the clamp that holds the strut. I started changing the passenger side strut and the bolt snapped off (I had soaked it for a week with Aerokroil and had heat on it when I was attempting to get the bolt out)...then I totally got discouraged and lost interest. The car has sat since. The common solution is getting the bolt out and drilling out the threads, then putting a thru bolt and lock nut through the clamp.

I didn't touch the driver's side. Gene has Pm'd me and may have interest, he has first crack because he Pm'd me before ya Ben.

I thought about putting it on CL, just hate all of the crackheads that respond.

The registration expires this month, I hate to scrap it, but I have no room to part it out, and I have the bike as my second vehicle now.....Brrrrrr, cold mornings and afternoons suck!

Battery is dead from sitting so long as well, but it is a fairly new battery.

No problem...thanks for being a stand up guy. Enjoy whatever you are going to do with it, I had too many vehicles and not nearly enough time or money to maintain all of them.

And my Daughter is 16, so I am car shopping for her....
