I have a truck that when I back out the drive and then start to drive off while turning it seems to slip and vibrate. It also sometimes does this when stopped and start to take off while turning sharp along with moaning sound. I am thinking that it needs to be rebuild but not even sure where what causes this? Is rebuilding rear-end hard and expensive? I was thinking of doing it myself unless it is really complicated. any suggestions?

What truck. It sounds like clutches slipping. Sometimes you can get lucky and change fluid and put some extra friction modifier in and it will quiten it up.

I changed added the friction modifier seems to help some on the slip still little noisy. Is it hard or expensive to replace clutches or should I wait till it goes out and do better setup?

its not that bad to do. Just have to put everything back together the way it came out and retorque everything to spec. Keeping the shims together on the diff is important when installing

You can rebuild the diff in the truck without taking it out. You just have to remove the axles and then you can remove the spring and spider gears. You could knock it out in a afternoon fairly easy ;)
