Im about to do a clutch in my 93 Cobra. Im going to go with the centerforce dual friction. I ran one many years ago in a 91GT I had and loved it. I cant figure out what the difference between these two part numbers are except for price. I relize they are listed for different years but they are EXACTLY same size? the pic looks different but both say "Dual Friction Clutch" Pressure Plate: 10-1/2 "Disc: 1-1/16" x 10 spline" so what makes one 40 bucks more? Is there something simple Im missing here?

Top one has the puck style friction pads on the disc for harder/stronger engagements. Some say not very streeet friendly. It would be a step above the 2nd one. If its a street car that's not makin rediculous power and you want a good pedal.... go with the second one.

You would think they would list somewhere in the "details" or "overview" that one is stronger but both clutches are the same word for word.

And the next question is for all the vendors on here.. who can beat this price? $359.99 to my door. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Centerforce-DF021048-Centerforce-Dual-Friction-Clutch-Kit-Size-10-4-in-/140634943257?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20be7eef19

Usually the pucks are only on one side, The one I had (Honda) was very streetable.

Im pretty sure the one I put in the 91GT years ago had the pucks on it and it was very streetable. It was my daily for a couple years. I think those are just "stock" photos.. I think all the dual frictions have the pucks but I could be wrong.

I used to use the Centerforce DF021057 for my 408 notch and it held well enough to destroy a transmission on drag radials. It obviously works.

The dual friction clutches usually have pucks on one side and stock type organic on the other . The center force light metal series which is about $800 or so comes with a lighter pressure plate and the disc has pucks on both sides . The pucks are a little aggressive in my opinon , the stock dual friction disc works great but they blow apart too easy . I use the center force plate with a different brand disc with good results .

I would listen to rocky about clutches. I remember him saying he had tried different clutches every week.

When I ordered one for the 89 the price difference was a throw out bearing. The kit didn't come with one. It added $38.00 I think. That was through Summit.

I wasnt really looking for opinions on the clutch Im going with the dual friction regardless. had one before and worked great for me. I just cant figure out why there are two dual friction clutch part numbers that are exactly the same size.

Niether of the two links from Jegs comes with the throwout bearing. Just a 40 dollar price difference for what seems to me (and to the guy I spoke with at jegs) as the exact same clutch. I think I will go with the cheaper one:bigthumb
