what happened dirtydog? we tried going to the best buy in tri-county and 30 minutes after midnight people were still lined up around the back of the building. it looked like they were only allowing so many people in the store at once.

we did hit up target and wally world to get new king bed-sets. it was successful

I refuse to go to any of those places on Black Friday.

Folks keep in mind just cause you show up doesnt mean u are going to get the sweet deals they are offering. They only have so many of a certain product. If you dont get one, you are out of luck. Should have ordered it on the net..

I got off work around 1030 last night and was ready to crash but i was greeted by my wife ready to go shopping lol... We hit some of the wally world sales and went home... She new i was getting grump.. Dealing with inmates all day and fighting to push a cart through wal-mart is a very dangerous mix for my nerves..

I didn't kill anyone so i call it a success:D

That Best Buy TV is a POS. Just because it's a 1080p doesn't mean it's good. It's a TV they had made JUST for BF sales. It has a lesser-quality panel, and a crap image processor. The normal price would probably be somewhere around $279, yet people will camp out for a week ahead of time to buy it? To save 80-100 bucks? People have problems.

My wife does this every year... I am used to it and she knows I won't entertain going with her... She was out 8pm - 6am this morning. She is about 90% done as of right now for our Christmas shopping. By the end of this weekend, we will be 100% done! I do like that. Don't have to go shopping with mass people between now and Christmas. She does pretty well. She's the shopper that has a list and spreadsheet she updates... She's pretty intense during Black Friday and weekend, LOL!

That's nice to know. Does Sharp even make decent products anymore?

Well... who would've thunk that a company would put together a sub par product with extra cheap parts laying around, then I remembered HP.

Really, almost any flat panel tv will work, but may not work well. To get a good one, you're going to want to stick with a Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, Toshiba, Etc... And not even all of theirs are good.

For an LCD, look for an IPS panel, whether LED or CFL backlit. For a Plasma, almost any of them will be decent. Plasmas have WAY better black levels than LCDs, but LCDs are far less hungry power-consumers. There are trade-offs for anything.

Within the next few years, OLED tvs will be more widely available, and should pretty much blow away any existing LCD or Plasma. Low power consumption, amazing colors, and absolutely ridiculous black levels.

That's what i'm saying. If i box up a pile of shit and tell everyone it's normally $20 but for ONE DAY ONLY i'll sell it for $5, think i'll make any money?

Passed menards on the way to work, the lot was full of cars with at least 50 more parked in the grass. It looked insane from the highway- can't imagine being @ ground zero.

I did pop into sears hardware and scored a set of deep well impact sockets for half price was gonna snatch up the snapon set from clist but couldnt pass up some for 40.

Gotta watch the decontented product switcharoo.

I went into the Menard's once, fuck that damn place, the layout sucks!!!!

On another forum everyone was planning on waiting in line at Harbor Freight for the Rapid Pump 1.5 ton racing jack for $59 on Friday. They all were happy they got one along with other killer deals and "ONLY" waited in line for 20-30 minutes.

I got the EXACT same deals on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving using the normal coupons that come with the Sunday paper....and didn't have to wait in line.

Also, they were offered the two year return plan for $10.99, I only paid $9.99 for mine two days prior. Knowing the seal issues that can pop up, I for once went with the return plan.

Sheeple :)

I braved Wally world in Milford with the wife. The place was a train wreck but we managed to survive. I picked up 2 office chairs and she grabbed some scentsy wax warmers. We were out of there and home before midnight. Best Buy had a camera and some X Box games that we wanted but there was no way in hell I was waiting in that line. So Friday morning I stopped in there around 7:00 on my way to work and got the games and the camera and was out of there 10 minutes later. I remember several years ago when the Wii was the big item. I went to Meijers on a Thanksgiving morning for it. There sale started at 6:00 A.M. I got there at 4:30 and they already handed out all the vouchers for them. I drove across the street to Walmart with the meijers add and got one for the same price and was back home before Meijers sale even started.
