I have one. There are also ones that were made to accept a scope. Have turned bolt handles and all.

They kick like a pissed off mule, shoot a fireball out the muzzle that would impress J. Robert Oppenheimer, and the bolt will give you arthritis when it's time to rechamber. All in all, it's fun as hell. Mine is a hex reciever made in 1926. I wish it didn't have armory marks on it, but it is, unfortunately, politically correct. I picked up the rifle, kit, bayonet and 80 rounds of brass cased (old as dirt) 7.62X54R ammo for it for $100.00 OTD about a year ago.

Ive got a 39 91/30. I honestly didn't think it kicked that bad but then again im used to the 7mm rem Mag. Just make sure if your shooting surplus ammo you clean it everytime after your done shooting as the ammo is corrosive and will rust the piss out of it. If your wanting to scope it check out these guys, High quality parts and hold up to the abuse!

I shot it Christmas eve... Recoil wasnt noticeable. But I'm used to shooting alot. I was impressed with the power throwing mud 20 feet in the air from 50 yards... I can't wait to stretch its legs! I just got a Kel Tec 9mm too :)

I shoot mine a lot, both are 1891/30 models.

One is a laminant stock, and rocks a pistol scope in place of the rear sight. I initially did that last part as a joke, but it really has turned out really nice. Quick target acquisition, and pretty darn good groups too.

The other is a standard 1891/30. Also pretty good groups, especially for notch and post iron sights.

The rifles are more accurate than what most people give them, and the actions are stupid strong and simple.

if you're interested in learning how to shoot them pretty accurately, buy some stripper clips and learn how to use them, buy two tins of ammo from AIM Surplus, buy a USGI sling, and sign up to attend the Appleseed in Crittenden on 3/31-4/1. We might back out and start ringing steel at 300m on Sunday. It's free to women, military, and those under 21. We encourage .22LR's simply for the price of shooting 500-600 rounds, but welcome all rifles.
