1990 2.3 starts then immediately stalls

A buddy of mine has this car and were trying to figure it out and I figured I'd ask if anyone else had this problem. It will start but immediately dies. If you hold the key to start it will run all day. Let the key come back and it dies. We have replaced the ignition switch, done a tune up, and tried 2 other computers. It will start and run with a mass air computer in it but idles rough because there is no mass air sensor. Any help would be great. Thanks, Matt

Have you pulled codes? Seems similar to an issue I had with my 93. Turned out to be the ign module on the drivers side.

Vacuum leak, Probly a large one. My coupe did that after I swapped intakes and missed a big ass hole underneath it.

Sounds like it could be the TFI module on the dizzy.

We have checked all the vacuum lines and they are all intact. Haven't tried the tfi module yet but I do have a new 4cyl one here. We are putting a 5.0 in it February but it would be nice to get it running right until then. Thanks for all the help.

Have you checked fuel pressure and spark? The pump may be pressurising the rail just enough to start then drops pressure. Fuel filter clogged?
