Do a search on the Corral and you'll get all kinds of interesting opinions.....
I'd go with Coast/CHP before DSS.

I had them build me a 331 shortblock a few years back and it will be the last one they build for me. I wasnt real happy with it. Id just prefer to have someone else do it next time.

They make nice pistons but they seem to have a sketchy history as far as shorblock and engines go.

Its a MASS production line, kinda like the difference from a McDonalds Cheeze burger vs 5 guys or a nice home made burger....

I talked to them an was under the impression there blocks where better but the told me it was no more than just a race prepped block that it wouldn't hold any more power that if I wanted that to get a boss or dart block an o have heard sketchy stuff about there rotating assembly's also

There's too many good local shops to not have one built locally.

they're pistons are ok,
i built a shortblock with them, not finish machined as nicely as a probe piston.
i dont use them at all.

They absolutely suck now. They total screwed blackout on his 5.0 stroker. It smoked from the get go. It had less than 1000 miles on it when he had to pull it. It didn't have any good bolts in the bottom end and the rings were gapped way to tight and it broke several pistons. He never even got to race it.

yours will be fine, your rod bolts will break long before the dss pistons lol!
the dss's just werent as nicely finished machined as say probe or srp's which is the same market.

I had a friend use on eyears ago, he didn't have the car long enough to know how it would last...
My .02........
How the hell is iut totally balanced if you use your flywheel and balancer????? For a true balanced engine, you need to use your balancer, flywheeel, and in my case I balanced mine witht he pressure plate... just the right way or harmonics are gonna kill it... I am not a fan of mail order engines... again... my .02

So what it comes down to is their parts are fine but their assembly sucks. All the more reason to pay a little more up front (and save a lot in the long run)to have a reputable local shop build an engine.
I have a set of their GSX pistons for my new engine. At the time they were the only company offering off the shelf pistons with valve reliefs for the TFS heads. They are as nice as any other off the shelf set of pistons I've seen up close including the Diamond pistons I had for a big bore build.

I had a Pro Bullet 347 short block from them, it ran great and I had no issues w/ it, I must have been one of the lucky ones.
