I have a 91 gt. Bought it with no trans. Just put a trans in it. Go to try and fire it up but I do not hear the fuel pump prime. I spray starting fluid in and fries up for a sec then dies. Inertia switch is good and fuel pump relay has just been replaced. Car has a new 255 walbro. My next step is check fusible links and possibly ecm related. Any other things to check? Thanks in advance

Check the plug that the harness from the fuel tank plugs into at the rear of the tank on the back of the spare tire well. Probe for power while someone turns the key on for you. It will only show power during the 5 sec pump prime when the key is first turned on. Also. you can run a jumper to the pump from the battery to the positive side of the fuel pump, and if it starts running and fires, you know you have a power supply problem with either a relay not getting powered up or no power to the relay.

Check fuses and make sure no wires are pinched at the bell. before you start jumping power wires use a fuel presure guage to make sure your on the right track. it could be injectors not noiding also. check the big double connector behind the upper intake.

Ok thanks guys! .... Update, I installed a new EEC relay and borrowed a New ecu. The fuel pump kicked on. The guy I got it from said he replaced the ecu once because of this problem. Now I have to fiugure out what caused this problem. A few buddies of mine said Maybe ground issues. That it could be grounding out at the ecu. All the grounds looked fine, but guess ill take them off and clean the up, and go from there. Ecu has a warranty if not.

Make sure the battery is unhooked before you clean the grounds..

Yea, im gonna get into that maybe later today. I think it was the EEC relay. I put my old computer back it and it still worked. Im still gonna clean the grounds, and put some dielectric grease in my connections. Dont wanna go through the headache again. Thanks
