Is buying a STEEDA cable worth it? I just broke my 2nd one so should I just buy a stock one from here on out?
What are you guys running?

A guy told me he was snapping his stock ones and that was one of the best investments made.

Yes, stock would be cheaper.

I would try to figure out if there is something about the routing, to make sure it is not kinked, severely bent, etc....

I checked the routing to make sure its not kinked. Everything looked good. I dont drive the car that often. Could that be an issue? Can you lube the cable?

Routing and heat can cause problems. I broke one a month on one of my foxes. The first one was a complete pain to do. By the time I sold the car a barley had to stop the car. Lol

make sure it's also not running by the exhaust. I have an extra stock cable that is like brand new. I only had it on the car for about an hour and then upgraded to an adjustable unit. It's yours for $30 if you want it. Just let me know.

I went trough 3 of them due to it being too close to my old headers. I would check for heat damage.

X2...I wrap mine with Thero-Tech heat tape. Only the portion where it runs between the side of the block and the headers.

Steeda cables are the only ones I run. I've had the same ones in my cars for years with no issues. Could be the quadrant is rubbing through it. A guy had one of the UPR triple pick ups and ground it down and smoothed where the cable was rubbing on it, and his issues went away.

Could be! It broke at the top by the quadrant. And I have a triple pickup quadrant.

I haven't looked at a clutch cable in many years but I have a stock one here that should be worth 20.00 if you want it.

Well I got the cable replaced today. Not a bad job at all. I replaced it with a motorsports non-adjustable cable. I did have to trim alittle off the bracket to clear the headers. Thanks for all the advise and input. You guys ROCK!
