so i was helping a friend put together his older 302. we are pretty sure it was originally out of a 82 f150. it was super low milage but the center cam bearing doesn't fit when mic to it its 60 thou bigger than what it calls for is this a normal thing? the bearing that came out of it wasn't spun and was original even had ford stamp on it. has anyone ever run across this before?

So you're saying the bearing does or doesn't fit in the block ?? Or, the cam won't slide in past that particular bearing ??
You sure you installed the correct bearing , since they're different sizes from the front of the engine to the back ?? They could've got mixed up in the box, usually they're in front to back order in the box. The OD is the same on all of them, but the ID is different front to back.

Smallest inner diameter bearing is in the rear, biggest is in the front. It's 15 thou difference from one bearing to another, so if you're off 60 thou, they could've gotten mixed up. Make sure you use the right tool when installing to get it squared up in the cam bore.

bearing don't fit in the block and we tried 2 different sets of bearings and had a friend of ours that check it too he thinks its a factory mess up. the other bearings go in where they are supposed to and fit nice i know its crazy but i've never had any issues like this in the past!!!

I think I might have a set of Sealed Power cam bearings in the garage, you can have 'em for free if you want to give them a try...
I only used the front bearing from the set.

I'll see if I can dig them up tonight.
