It seems my 95 BMW 325i has decided to blow a head basket and I have located a 5.0 based swap kit for this car. I am looking to build a quick street car. What is the easiest combo to pull 350 rwhp? I want to stay n/a for now. I was thinking 331 or 347 but have never built a stroker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don.t know about 350 rwhp but a set of p heads ,65mm-70m tb and a tfs1 cam and a tune would make a nice combo for you.

you could make that with all day long with either one. you should see a little more torque with more ci but it really comes down to heads, cam, and intake. a 306 with good compression would get you there too.

Easiest and "cheapest" is to put a bottle on it.....

Buy you a stroker from a trust worthy individual that has one already built, that would be the easiest way to get there and you should be able to save a couple dollars.

my old fox combo was stock block, crank, and rods. still 302cu with domed pistons and good rod bolts. with performer rpm heads, ported, a self ported typhoon intake and anderson N-71 cam. it came in at 10.8:1 compression and made a little over 300rwhp through an auto. it also spun to almost 7000rpm and ran 11.80s. it was alot of fun and didn't break the bank.

Very true....I've owned a few LS1s and they are fast, I just don't like GM build quailty.

The LS1 swap is about 4 times more than the 5.0 swap. I may even consider 351 based stroker but will need to research header fitment . I know it will fit but I will have to fab a custom steering shaft.

We all the mods we are doing to this, it should put down 475-500HP to the tire. NA.

Quite a few header companies make that header.

Who makes a 5.0 swap for the E36? I know the LSx is the hot ticket for E36 swaps, but a 5.0 one would be cool.

I would have to say the easiest way to 350rwhp is nitrous. It could be done with used parts for under $500.

Just need the brackets, a set of E30 cushions, and two passenger side shorties.

The LSx swap only fails because of the steering shaft and no available "cheap" header. Plus the money for the mounts is just plain stupid. The wiring is a bit more complex, but not as bad as the internet toughguys make it out to be, if you can read the crappy German diagrams.

Im getting together a windsor engine for this swap into a buddies E36 with a stalled auto. Should be fun when Its done.

What are you going to do about headers?
