Hi, so I've got an all stock GT, except a Cold Air Intake and I've got Flowmaster Super 44's on it...but I want to get an X-pipe...whats the best set up to have, an X-Pipe and the cat's? Or no cats and the X-pipe.....????? I've tried looking up different videos on Youtube but I can't find any set ups like that, or at least they don't say how theirs is set up....does any one have videos of their exhaust or know a good set up? Thanks

Magnaflow Pro Chamber o/r X pipe. Pm Chris91 thats what he has I believe. I think he has a 99gt with stock manifolds, Magnaflow mid, and bassani exhaust. His car sounds really good. Ill see if I can find some videos for ya.

Mac Pro-Chamber all the way. I don't have any videos of my car but it sounds great. The Bassani exhaust is a nice piece too though. I'd ditch the flomasters for sure.

Sorry Chris I thought you said Magnaflow. You should make some videos of your car. Id like to see them as well.

Its cool man. I might get a couple videos of it soon. Gotta clean it up first though, dont want that nasty thing in any pics or videos the way it is. haha

The third video of the Cobra sounds almost just like mine.

There's a few more Cobra videos out there with that setup but I wasnt sure if it would be different with the 2v.

I have flowmasters also. But they are on their way out the door. Right now Im trying to decide between Bassani or Borla Stingers. But I also need Longtubes and a Mac Prochamber. I have JBA midlengths right now and their catted midpipe. Its not my favorite. I dont know if it would be better without the cats or not.

Here's mine

What about an X-pipe with high flow cats, or just cutting off one set of cats???

My step-brother just bought a '96 GT and had the mufflers cut off last night and it sounds beast as hell lol....

Just don't know what would sound the best

I ran the magnaflow (not magnapacks) exhaust with Bassani catted x-pipe and it sounded very nice to me (2002 GT). It worked well. Had minimal drone in my opinion. Of course I was also running a 4.10 gear so RPM range on the interstate or highway was well above the drone level a modular engine makes which seems ot be around 1800-2000 RPM from my findings.

Opinions on exhaust setups are going to vary. They are like b-holes. Everyone has one. Each has his/her own choice, sound, etc he/she likes. I currently have three sets of exhaust in my garage for my present vehicle (2005 GT). Getting ready to change the note again after adding LT's and offroad x-pipe. May even be taking the LT's off later this spring since I gained very little other than noise from the addition. You may get lucky on your first shot and like what you get. Then again you may spend some cash trying different things until on hit on it. Good luck.

Have a great week, and make sure you bring it to the cruise in this spring. Good luck!
