"Yesterday I posted the results of the 2011 fourth quarter Ohio Attorney General's CHL report.
Today I got a little curious, played with Excel workbook and made a graph of total Ohio CHLs in effect at the end of each reporting period.
Note: There was only one (year end) report for 2004.

Two things are noticeable to me:
1. There was an obvious "flattening" of the graph in 2008.
Examination of the data shows that the number of CHL renewals in 2008 did not keep up with the number of 2004 licenses that would have expired. Approximately 14,000 CHLs were not renewed.
2. More interesting is the change in the slope of the graph at around that time.
The first 14 quarters show an average gain in CHL holders of 5711 per quarter and the last 12 quarters show a growth rate of 11,840 licensees per quarter. OVER DOUBLE! http://www.ohioccwforums.org/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif "
