Found out the knocking on my car ended up being a main now plans to tear it down this weekend and replace rod/main bearings , crank, and oil pump. I was just curious if there were anything you guys knew bout some of the brands out there for any of these parts for instance the good or bad on any of them, any tips would be a big help. Thanks

+1 on that. Ive heard that a lot of 4v mod guys use Melling oil pumps, but have no experience with them myself.

I prefer melling oil pumps and Mahle pistons. I use Steve Barker to do all my machine work. Unless you are going crazy with it the 03/04 cobra rods will work great. Buy good timing compoenents the cheap stuff is crap.

Your crank is probably fine and at the most may need to be turned .010".
