Ok so I have a 302 without smog pump, power steering or A/C. Factory alernator/tensioner pulley, water pump and crank pulley.
From what I understand the factory pump is a reverse rotation.
Can I just throw a standard rotation pump on and run a belt??? Or will I need some sort of idler pulley in the smog or p/s location to make it work.
I really can't find much on google and anything I do find is making my head spin in reverse rotation.
Any help will be much appreciated.

I bought a march pulley system for my 302. I also think that the standard rotation pump uses a different timing chain cover

Here is a site for the power steering pump, it relocates it to delete ac. Then measure the length of blet you will need. If you change the alternator also you can remove the bulky aleternator bracket.
Here is the march pulley site

I'm doing something similar. I'm running an early 80's crown vic 302 standard rotation pump with an ASP ribbed water pump pulley. Most stock and aftermarket water pump pulleys aren't ribbed and the belt won't grip the smooth pulley very well. If you already have the pump just look at the ports on the back of the pump and match them up to the timing cover you have / need to get.
