I have a 03 F150 that the head gasket has been seeping oil for about a year now it is leaking coolant . I have read that the oil is a common problem but no recall on it .I plan to pull the motor to put new head gaskets on this weekend is there anything else I should look to replace while doing so .I am going to have the heads checked and milled if needed just dont know much about the mod motors . The truck only has 68000 on it which makes it very depressing to have to do . I was not sure about the timing chains and components while it was apart . It does carry a little noise at start up as most of them do .

the chains and guides should be fine. I would check to see if it has plastic tensioners or cast. Nothing really else to do unless you notice leaking at the intake gaskets or exhaust gaskets. check the cam journals and make sure they still look pretty. keep the cam caps together so they can go back on where they came off. you may be able to reuse the intake gaskets but I would replace them for piece of mind.
