Since the car is down again I figured i might as well take care of a few safety items...

I obviously need 4 -16an fittings (for the radiator, waterpump, and t-stat housing)...but do i need to do the smaller fittings that go to the heater core and the intake? I am not looking to get an electric pump at this time so just want to make this factory set up work the best I can...

Most guys cap those off when they go the full an route. The same issues exist in the hoses and heater core that you see in the radiator and associated hoses.

That's if you're not running a heater core which also equals no heat. F that LOL.

Will those hoses also "burst" if it blows a head gasket? I am only doing this as a safety precaution at the track.

Weakest link in the coolant system. Take the heater core out and save another suprise party with the wall.

race parts solutions should have all the weld on aluminum -16an bungs you need. I might have a few used black 16 an hose ends if your interested since I had to change a few hoses when I changed radiators this winter. I know we changed a few fitting angles so I had to get a few new fittings.
