Hey guys. I know I am not very active on this board. I wanted to post a feeler thread about possibly having a meet at the Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio on the last full weekend of July. I am VP of Ohio Probes and we have been hosting this meet for the last 12 years. This has been a very fun meet too however, in the past couple of years the numbers have been dwindling. It kinda makes sense to me since most of the members and attendees we college folk and most people don't say when I graduate I am gonna go buy a Probe. I am organizing this meet this year for at least one more weekend of debauchery! If I can get the head count back to its glory days, I will continue to host it. Thats where I need you guys! In the past this meet was for the most part exclusive to the Probe community. You can check out some of the old threads from the past Hocking Hills meets on Probetalk.com. I am experimenting with combining more of my passions. I am officially inviting the Supercoupe community to our humble little meet, especially since I am completely infatuated with my birds. We used to get guys coming from all over the place, such as the General Midwest, New England states, Canada, Florida, California, Hell one year we had a guy fly in from the Cayman Islands. This is usually camping meet. We reserve a campground with RV hookups, provisions for tents and a hotel within a mile of the camp. Most people show up on Friday and stay through Sunday, we always have some people show up on Saturday and leave the same day. Friday is usually a meet/greet day with campfires, ALCOHOL, laughter and what not. Saturday we usually get up and wash the cars, head to the park lodge and have a little non official car show. After the show we have a cruise along the completely awsome Rt. 664. After the cruise we usually head out to one of the main attractions of the park, Old Man's Cave (pretty cool too). I like it when we go take a walk through the trails. They have one spot that is awsome for group photos too. After the trails everyone is free to do as they please. Later that day we have a small awards ceremony for the show back at the camp. After the awards we light up the campground nightlife again. Sunday is when most people pack up and say their goodbyes and head home.

I really wanna keep this meet alive. I am having this posted on the LincolnvsCadillac forums, as well as the SuperCoupe boards and obviously Probetalk and here.

Let me know what you guys think. It is a fun time and you get a chance to meet some great people (ME) LOL

This is for the most part a camping meet, seems people love to hang out and enjoy everyones company, getting to know one another. Also you always have the one day (Saturday) folks that have other stuff to do and don't like spending their nights away from home however, the meet is gonna be fairly family friendly. I will be bringing my family too. I will have a camper for people to use if needed for cooking and electricity if needed. If you plan on camping by all means please shoot me a PM so that I can get a rough idea on how much of the campground I need to reserve. I always over compensate for the undecideds though.

This will be the first time at this place. We used to go to hocking hills canoe livery, however, they screwed us over the last time we reserved there. They lost our reservation and rented the lot to someone else on the same weekend. Plus the new place is more camper friendly with the electric hook ups, not everyone enjoys the mellow tones of a generator. :)

The meet has been moved to a closer location. I am holding the meet at my property here in Felicity, OH. If anyone has questions pm me or stangman. We will be having this event on the same weekend, which makes it easier for alot of the non-camping Saturday people

We have run into several concerns. One of which is where we want to camp...... they now no longer allow drinking alcohol outside of the tents/campers at the place that we made our reservations. Secondly, I know money is always a concern for many of us and we have found it difficult to collect the money in the past for the reservation costs...... which in turn has caused us to have to pay it out of our pockets. The last concern........ is the long drive far east to Hocking Hills. Even though some people drive further than we do.

I live just east of Cincinnati in little town called Felicity. Zipcdoe is 45120 if you want to Google it. We have around 2 acres which is plenty of room for cars and camping.

Now the pros of this are:

1. May be a shorter drive for more people.

2. No costs for camping which means....FREE! All we ask is to bring an extension cord and you can hook up to our utilities. We also have water, a bathroom and a shower. We can have our kitchen for cooking. This event is rain or shine and in case it rains we actually have an "out" building called "The Shop" that is dedicated strictly to cars and beer. We have plenty of room for FUN!

3. We have three 4 wheelersof our own and you can bring yours too! On the property that we have, we actually have a dirt drag strip for quads for racing...... so we can enjoy that too! We have trails and woods your can ride your dirt bike or quad on and its only a few miles from our house.

4. It would better for the kids! If you are bringing little kids.....even better........we have a 5 year old daughter and she has plenty of toys and a swimming pool also.

5. We have a large pontoon boat that we can go take out on the Ohio River which is only about 5 miles away from us and also there is a large park about 15 minutes away called East Fork Lake in Bethel, Ohio. We can go tubing, fishing or just enjoy the ride................

6. We have a garage with plenty of tools......so if any of you need help with something on your car......we all can help out right then and there.

7. We will still have the the Cannon Ball Run Competition.

*Some other things......we live just outside a small country town. There are 2 gas stations and and IGA grocery store 1/4 mile down the street in case you need anything.

*About 30 minutes away there is the Coney Island Amusement park that has rides and swimming.

I know 1 or two of you may have made reservations already to stay in a cabin in nearby Hocking Hills. I am not sure of what the cancellation policies are, but you may want to ask what the deadlines are etc. I do want to apoligize for the late notice however, the camping arrangements were just brought to my attention when the camping park was bought out by the church of Nazarene.

Address is 101 Walter Rd. Felicity, OH 45120
