Is this the first time you have ran w/ slicks?
What RPM were you leaving at?
Is it an automatic or manual trans?

20 psi in slicks seems like alot.

yea first time i've had it on slicks and i was leaving around 5 i guess didn't watch exactly what it was. believe it or not the car tries to hook on street tires and i'm not sure why the suspension is nothin special factory springs but it has arms in rear with 50 50 shocks stock up front. the shift then hesitate is whats odd its like something is holding it back for a brief moment then it picks back up

What fuel pump?
What is your fuel level in the tank while racing?
Does it only do it at the track?

I don't think it is a hesitation issue, I think your just not used to the slicks grabbing and not braking loose so it will bring RPM's down for a quick moment between gear shifts. You are going to notice them type of changes as you become more custom to the responses of the changes you make with the car. You may just need to whined up the RPM's to remove some of that. This is just an opinion, I do hope that this may shed some light on things if not now maybe in the future. Enjoy being able to get out there and race.

i have a 255 pump in it and it had close to a half a tank when i took it to track since then it has done it on street tires but only when i am beating on it real good im starting to think i have valve spring binding problems!!!

Uh if you were coil-binding valve springs you would have more issues than a hesitation on shifts...
