Dumb Transmission Question

So Im looking at an 88 GT with a manual transmission. It's missing third gear. Should I scrap the trans and try to buy a cheap new one or is there any way I could fix it? Honestly I've never rebuilt a transmission before and the closest thing I've done is put a couple of aods in. I'm looking to do the cheapest thing possible to get it up and running. I believe its the WC but dont hold me to it.

From what I have heard if you have never rebuilt one for it can be difficult. They make videos that are step by step, but I have personally never tried. Might try finding a used one for a good price...that is what I did with my last AOD I replaced. If you are going to have some rebuild it for you, I would look into new ones...sometimes for a couple hundred more you can get an entire new one.

Talk to DirtyDog on here, I don't believe the T5's are that expensive to rebuild. Don't get stuck trying to find a good used one and possibly end up with junk.
