I have a mini tubbed 82 with a 302, gt40, cam, intake. I finally did a dead dig on it last night. The car goes straight but it shifts really hard. Its a 5 speed. The rear end is a 327 31 spline, spool. is this normal?

Aftermarket shifter? Do you have an adjustable cable and quadrant?

John I think I have not explaned the problem poorly. It goes in to gear fine but the rear end hits real hard when i get on it. I'm thinking one of the problems is I still have the stock upper and lower control arms. I have also read that with a spooled rear end they grab hard.

Control arm bushings good? Never drove one with a spool but I'm sure its gonna grab very hard

The bushing on the rearend are new but the upper and lower to the body not 4sure. I think I need to save the money and grab new upper and lowers.

Get some double adjustable uppers and tubular lowers cuz stock stamped ones suck

Hope not to thread jack, but with a stock deafened setup is alot of wheel hop to be expected.
