I have been looking into engine combinations lately and doing a lot of research on an engine build for the coupe. I am curious what peoples cylinder head of choice is these days. I read a lot on multiple forums and manufacturers websites to see what's hot right now. So , what aluminum heads would you buy for a mild street car? Probably be a 331 and may see a Kenne Bell at some point. Please give reasoning for what brand you chose. I'm not building a race car , so keep that in mind. Just a fun , simple combination that works and is reliable

i know everybody gonna say ebay sux but i seen some nice aluminum head all done up for like 400-500$ and all the feed back on them is good, but if had the money i think i would go with trickflow or edelbrock there a proven brand :bigthumb

You can go with multiple choices for that street car. If you want to keep an inline head and not have to worry about special pistons use either the Edelbrock Performer RPM's or the Holley Systemax. You can use either head with standard fly cut pistons. If you don't mind using a piston for the TFS Twisted Wedge heads then go that route. All of these heads are proven for reliabilty and performance. You can get a piston as well w/ both fly cuts already to

I made a half ass spread sheet for all the specs on Trick Flow Track Heat 190s, Edelbrock E-CNC , Victor jr's and Afr 185's. From all of the manufacturers info the AFR's are exactly what I should go with for my expectations. I read probably 100 threads of different peoples combinations. The AFR's are definitely well liked and what I had actually planned on getting before. I have a pretty good idea of what the combination will end up being now. Nothing crazy, but well matched.

I am doing a set of AFR 185s I think. I talked to Rick Anderson about a cam. Right now I have to determine what cubic inch I am going to go with. A good friend of mine has a brand new 306 on a stand that has all good parts in it for a good price, or I can get a stroker kit. Either way it will be getting AFR heads.
