What I have seen so far seems to be pretty well done. It is my understanding that Costner has done a massive amount of research (or had it done) prior to beginning any production of this series in hopes to keep it as true to the history line as possible.

I thought it was very well done. I think Tom Berenger did a great job as "Uncle Jim", he really seemed like a sneaky/slimy character. It seems (they portrayed, maybe accurately) like the Hatfield's were a little smarter, or at least thought for themselves, and the McCoy's were more driven by religion and hate. But, even in 6 hours, they had to skip a lot of details, obviously both sides had faults.

Overall, excellent show.
