Well I have been dying to see this movie so me and the wife headed to the IMAX 3D and it did not disappoint. Two thumbs up from this Ridley Scott Alien fan!

No it is different, although you see the obvious link to Alien at the end. Excellent movie.

For me, the movie was just a tad dissapointing. I like the whole thing of now knowing where it originated from but still left some questions un-answered. They really never explain just how or where the Alien came from but gave you an indication from where.

I think they got the ending wrong as to how most of us remember how the first Alien started. Because when they discovered the ship they noticed the figure sitting in the chair with the hole in the chest and with the way Prometheus ended left me scratchin my head.

So my question is...did the other aliens engineer Alien? Because it was mentioned in the movie which kinda threw me for a loop.

And I like how they left it opened at the end for another. :bigthumb


One last thing...it never fails when I go to a movie it always seems like you get that person who has to sit right next to you, or behind kicking you in the back or some jackass using his cell in the middle of the movie....well this was the first but never fails. Some lady apparently got sick and tried to make it out of the theater...she didn't make it and threw up all in front of me along the walk path, then once she got around the corner you could hear her spilling everything...ugh, the smell.

My take was that the engineers, made the alien to be a weapon and like every other one that has tried to control the alien they find a way to adapt, survive, evolve and kick ass.

I always manage to sit next to the couple where one of them has to comment and try to predict everything that's going to happen loud enough so everyone can hear.

Great effects in the movie but I was a little disappointed too. It would have been nice if there was some sort of communication between Dave and the Engineer, instead your just wondering what the hell just happened? I always hate leaving a movie with more questions than answers.

Just got in from seeing Prometheus in IMAX 3D. We certainly wern't disappointed. It was actually scary in parts. Fantastic special effects. They sure left the door open for a second movie. A strong connection to "Alien". Loved it. :popcorn:

We saw it Saturday night. I liked it.
